I am a physician. I celebrate medicine. Becoming a doctor took up all of my time, my 20's. It took away ever feeling rested and of-course my social life. It took a lot of sacrifice, focus, responsibility, accountability. It took 11 years. There were moments when I wanted to quit. It was difficult. Now that I'm nearing the end of my residency, I am starting to see things differently. Despite having gone through the roughness of medical training, I really truly enjoy the art of medicine and patient care. Being a doctor is not a job, it's a lifestyle. Medicine is not a field, it's an animal with a very complicated, always interesting, and fragile personality that I am friends with forever. I am happy that I chose this path.
